Laem Phak Bia Environment Research Development Project
Tambon Laem Phak Bia Amphoe Ban Laem Phetchaburi, 76100 ThailandDescription
We are organizing a special trip in memory of our late King Bhumibol, whose devotion to improving lives inspired the King's Royally Initiated Laem Phak Bia Environmental Research and Development (LERD) Project in Phetchaburi Province.
The purpose of LERD project is to perfect methods for managing wastewater and garbage, and to enrich our mangrove forests. Several technological innovations have resulted, including processes for lagoon water treatment, grass filtration methodology, and constructed wetland. Moreover, a mangrove forest filtration system inhibits wastewater from the municipal area flowing into the Phetchaburi River, helping restore nature’s balance.
In addition to study and research, the LERD Project provides a learning platform for wastewater management and mangrove forest conservation generally. Its scenic location astride a mangrove forest and the sea has made it an eco-tourist attraction and an ideal destination for bird-watching activities.
Join us in a day of relaxed learning and delicious seafood.
